Cardinal Problems

With the signing of Matt Holliday the Cardinals are hoping to do some more dealings. The top of their list is most likley a closer. Personally Franklin just wont cut it. He started to struggle at the end of the season and started letting more runs in and walking more batters. The Cardinals need a closer who will finish the season with 50 to 60 saves. The Cardinals also need a fifth starter. I don’t think bringing a young gun in is going to cut it. They need some experience on the mound, a pitcher who knows what to do in tight jams. I would of thought Randy Wolfe would be key for them but Wolfe is already taken. The Cardinals also need a third basemen. Freese is not going to cut the mustard, after the DUI I don’t really favor him. I think he just doesn’t have the experience that a third basemen needs. You need a younger Scott Rolen, quick, has soft hands, and has good hand eye cordination. Joe Crede would be a good pick but he has had many injuries that would keep him from being the player that he has shown himself he can be. The Cardinals have 6-7 million dollars of free cashh hanging loose. They should really get a third basemen and a closing pitcher, or a fifth starter. If the Cardinals are planning to win 100 games they need solid players who will last for many seasons. I think the Cardinals have a lot of young blood, maybe too much, with the signing of Holliday they have a much better chance of winning a World Series Title.
